Any's FAQs

1 - How do I download?
Easy! You type the title or part of the title of the movie, you want the subtitles to, and simply click "Search". You can also narrow the search by selecting a particular language.

2 - How do I upload?
Well, first you have to "register" and "Log in". Then you will see an "Upload a subtitle" link in the navigation menu. Click it and you will see a form, allowing you to upload the desired subtitle. Please, fill in as much information as you can provide. Keep in mind that the uploaded subtitles should be in standard zip and rar formats.

3 - How do I register?
Thank you for your interest! Just click "register" in the navigation menu and fill in the required fields.

4 - What is this site all about?
Thank you for asking! This site is a project aiming at creating the universal collection of subtitles to all and any video materials in all possible languages. The project is supported through advertisement and donations.

5 - I love the site so much that I want to donate... some help!
Wow, I love you too! Sure, thank you for appreciation of my efforts - for now you could donate me your efforts in any area you feel you could. Please contact me via the contact form and I'll try to find you a suitable task.

6 - Where do the subs come from?
Subs come from the volunteers, to whom I am graciously thankful. Currently there is the monthly competition for the users who upload most subtitles. Check it out here.

7 - How do I extract/compress the subs from/for the site?
Most archivers should work. Otherwise you could use this one, since it is free. When compressing with it - please, choose zip deflate method.
7-Zip

8 - Now I got the subs, extracted them in the same folder as the movie, but they don't appear during playback, what should I do?
Well, I always make sure to have the subtitles files named the same way as the movie file (for example: zombie.avi + zombie.srt or love.avi + love.idx + love.sub). I also make sure to get a software player and the necessary codecs and filters capable of displaying subtitles. There are many options available, but I am using these:
- K-Lite Codec Pack
- Combined Community Codec Pack
To avoid problems better have only one of them istalled at a time.

9 - How do I rip subtitles from a DVD - I want to contribute them.
You can find more information on this topic here: http://www.doom9.org/subrip.htm

10 - What are the subtitles types out there?
I don't like remembering complex technical names so I just keep track of the sub's extension. The following list collects almost all formats available currently .ass, .dks, .txt, .psb, .sst, .sub, .son, .stl, .srt, .ssa, .tts, .vsf, .zeg, .jss, .scr, .mpl, .pjs, .smi, .sami, .rt, .txt + .sub, .idx + .sub and others.

11. - Subs don't synchronize what to do?
First thing to do is to try another subtitle to this movie from my site. If this doesn't work maybe instructions from here could help http://www.doom9.org/sub.htm.

12. - How do I convert the sub's format?
There are many programs that can do that for you. The following links are also helpful in that aspect:
- Subtitle Workshop
- http://www.doom9.org/subrip.htm

13. - I have some other question!
And I hope to have an answer! :) Please, have a look at my forum and ask your question there.
